Worsley's Story
Lynda Wallace, director of the Akaroa Museum shares this story of a local hero, Frank Worsley.
Without Akaroa-born Frank Worsley, it's believed Shackleton and all his men would have perished after their ship, the Endurance, was stuck in pack ice and crushed. Worsley used his incredible sailing and navigational skills to sail across the wild Southern Ocean and find rescue.
