Hear from Margaret Bradshaw, a trailblazer and influential female role model in Antarctic research.
When a teenage Margaret Bradshaw wanted to become a geologist, she was told: "a women in a group of geologists causes trouble". But Margaret went on to be the first women accepted to Queen Mary College. She became an Antarctica geologist, the first woman to lead a deep filed party in the Antarctic.
Margaret has an Antarctic peak in her name and was the first NZ woman to be awarded a Polar Medal.
